
Meet Clarissa Nolde
Councilwoman Clarissa Nolde, first elected to the Council in 2022, seeks re-election this year. She is a 24-year resident of Garwood, where she raised three children with her husband, Gonzalo.
For the past 16 years, Clarissa has been a music teacher in the New Brunswick Public Schools. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Northwestern University and a Master’s in Flute Performance from the Juilliard School.
On the Council, Clarissa serves as the Chair of the Community Engagement Committee, coordinating and organizing many volunteer groups in Garwood, including the Recreation Committee and the Garwood Partnership for Arts and Culture (GPAC), of which she is the founding director. Clarissa is also an active member of the Public Works and Community Development Committees, and has prior service on the Finance and Police Committees.
